At the heart of Leicester City there is a group of young people aged 13 – 19 year olds called the Youth Action Team.
These young people are ambassadors of youth volunteering.
The role of the Youth Action Team is to inspire their peers to volunteer, develop youth-led community projects and to work alongside Focus Charity to increase the quality and quantity of youth involvement across the voluntary, public and private sectors.
There are many ways you can get involved with the Youth Action Team that will develop your confidence, self-belief, skills and ambitions in life.
We meet every Wednesday at Focus from 5-7pm and everyone is welcome (no referral needed).
The Youth Action Team also deliver training to volunteer-involving organisations, youth groups as well as corporate organisations, to inspire them to volunteer and make a difference. This training is called “Outside The Box’ and can be delivered anywhere.
If you need young people’s advice on how to make your organisation more young people friendly, please give us a call on 0116 251 0369.

Youth Action Team Projects
Our Youth Action Team have been invloved in lots of projects. As youth ambassadors of volunteering they've been to the houses of parliament to speak on behalf of young volunteers, ran a massive youth consultation in the City, slept in cardboard boxes to raise money for a homeless charity and mentored other young people just to name a few.
