Leicester Ageing Together Partnership

The aim of the Leicester Ageing Together partnership is to reduce isolation and the risk of isolation amongst older people.

The programme employs the principles of Early Action, seeking to work upstream, targeting the root causes of isolation, and reconnecting at-risk isolated older people to communities.

The emphasis is on enabling older people to re-establish and then independently maintain social connections, Leicester Ageing Together recognises that isolation is a problem located in communities, not just individuals, and so works to change the environment around the older person, including community services and community attitudes.

The four target wards are Evington, Thurncourt, Latimer and Spinney Hills.

The programme also has a wider citywide focus.
